Fertility monitoring involves a follicle tracking scan, which is performed to measure the size of any active follicles - the fluid-filled sacs in the ovaries that can contain eggs – to estimate when ovulation is likely to occur and can increase your chances of conception, both naturally and with the help of fertility treatment

You will usually require three follicle tracking scans during any one menstrual cycle. A detailed scan will take place during your first appointment with the subsequent scans concentrating on the ovaries. This is an internal pelvic ultrasound scan in order to ensure maximum accuracy.
