My Fertility Scan performs these procedures for the patients of other fertility centres or fertility specialists, as well as patients referred by GPs and gynaecologists.
 
The procedure is performed by highly-skilled diagnostic medical sonographers here at My Fertility Scan. It is a relatively non-invasive procedure involving the insertion of a small catheter into the uterus. Sterile fluid is passed through the catheter into the uterine cavity while a vaginal ultrasound is being performed.
 
This allows the sonographer to investigate the cavity for abnormalities.The addition of a contrast medium is then passed through the catheter allowing the sonographer to detect any potential blockages in the fallopian tubes.
